What a GeoGuessr solver does

In a GeoGuessr round you get a street view and a blank map. A solver reads the street view and tells you where it is before you have to guess. ATLAS does this by looking at what is on screen: road markings, signage, vegetation, architecture and other visual signals that experienced players learn to read over time. The prediction comes back in about 3 seconds, and you see a country name, a set of coordinates and a confidence score. You use that information however you want.

Nothing is injected into the game. ATLAS reads the image from outside the browser the same way a second person looking at your monitor would, so the GeoGuessr client itself is never touched.

How the solver works

The process from street view to prediction runs in a short sequence every round:

1. Screen capture. When a round starts, ATLAS detects the new street view and captures what is on screen. It does not tap into the game's data. The image is all it has.
2. Four views. It captures four angles of the scene rather than just one, so the AI can weigh clues from the full panorama rather than a single direction.
3. Prediction. The AI evaluates the combined views and returns a best-guess location: a country, a coordinate pair and a confidence score. Average time is about 2.7 seconds.
4. You decide. The prediction appears in the ATLAS window. You read it, place your pin on the map, and move on. The app never touches the game interface unless you switch to bot mode.

Solver vs bot: what is the difference

This question comes up constantly, so it is worth being precise.

A GeoGuessr solver answers the question "where is this?" and shows you the result. You are still in control. The pin does not move until you click. You can use the suggestion, ignore it, or use it as a tie-breaker between two places you are weighing up.

A GeoGuessr bot answers the same question but then acts on it: it places the pin, confirms the guess, and moves to the next round on its own. You can step away entirely and let it run a full session.

ATLAS supports both modes with the same AI engine. Solver mode is assist mode. Bot mode is full auto. You pick which one at the start of each session, and you can switch between them. If you want full auto, read the GeoGuessr bot page for how that side works.

Accuracy you can verify

The 81% country accuracy figure comes from real GeoGuessr ranked games, not a test set. We measured 1,600+ rounds in July 2026 across all modes and logged what the AI predicted versus what the correct country was. The full numbers are published in our AI accuracy post.

A few things affect accuracy in practice. Images with almost no context clues, such as a blank road in a featureless desert, are harder for the AI as much as they are for a human. Let the street view finish loading fully before triggering a prediction so the AI has a clean, complete image. The first prediction of a new session is a little slower while the engine warms up; after that, expect about 3 seconds consistently.

Which modes and hardware

ATLAS runs on Windows 10 and 11. It covers Classic, Ranked Duels and Team Duels. No GPU is required: predictions run in about 3 seconds on a normal laptop CPU. If you have a GPU, you can get up to 10x faster predictions, which matters most in fast Duels rounds where every second counts.

Setting up the solver

1. Pick a plan. The license key arrives by email shortly after checkout.
2. Download the desktop app. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, no browser extension required for the full solver.
3. Activate with the license key on first launch.
4. Press F10 to open the browser that ATLAS watches.
5. Log in to GeoGuessr in that window and start a game.
6. When a round loads, the prediction appears in the ATLAS window. Click on the map as normal.

If you run into connection issues, close the browser and press F10 again. A fresh window fixes most problems. You can also ask in our Discord.
