ATLAS Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This policy covers the browser extension "ATLAS AI for GeoGuessr" published by ATLAS Software. The short version: the extension captures a screenshot only when you click the capture button, saves that image to your own computer, and sends nothing anywhere.

What the extension does

• When you click the capture button, it takes a screenshot of the currently visible browser tab.
• The screenshot is saved as a PNG file to your own Downloads folder, in an ATLAS subfolder, using the browser's standard download mechanism.
• That is the entire functionality.

What the extension does not do

• It does not transmit screenshots or any other data to us or to any third party. Captures stay on your device.
• It does not collect, store or share personal information, browsing history, cookies or page content.
• It does not contain analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking of any kind.
• It does not read or modify any web page. It has no content scripts and no background data access.
• It cannot see your screen at any other moment than the click on the capture button.

Permissions explained

• activeTab: grants one time access to the tab you are looking at, only at the moment you click the extension. This is what allows the screenshot to be taken.
• downloads: allows the captured PNG to be saved into your Downloads folder without extra prompts.

The ATLAS desktop app

The extension is a standalone companion tool. The ATLAS desktop application is a separate product with its own data practices, described in our terms. Installing the extension does not install the desktop app and does not create an account.
