Terms of Service
The legal terms for ATLAS, including the terms of service, privacy policy, refund policy and cookie policy. Last updated: March 6, 2026.
1. Terms of Service
1.1 Agreement. By purchasing, downloading, or using ATLAS ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1.2 License. ATLAS grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for personal use, subject to your active subscription. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or modify the Software.
1.3 Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your license key and account credentials. One license key may be used on one device at a time.
1.4 Prohibited Use. You may not use ATLAS to violate any applicable law or third-party terms of service. Use of ATLAS in competitive or ranked GeoGuessr environments is at your own risk. ATLAS does not inject code into, modify, or interact with the GeoGuessr website directly.
1.5 Availability. ATLAS is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific accuracy rates, or compatibility with future GeoGuessr updates.
1.6 Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ATLAS and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Software.
1.7 Anti-Tampering. Any attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, decompile, crack, bypass license protection, or otherwise tamper with ATLAS or its infrastructure is strictly prohibited. Such actions constitute a criminal offense under Dutch law (Article 138ab of the Dutch Criminal Code) and EU Directive 2013/40/EU on attacks against information systems. We will pursue legal action, including but not limited to civil damages and criminal prosecution, against any individual or entity found to be engaging in such activities.
1.8 Termination. We reserve the right to revoke your license at any time for violation of these terms, without refund.
1.9 Governing Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
1.10 Changes. We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how ATLAS ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR").
2.1 Data We Collect
- Account data: email address (provided during sign-up via Supabase authentication).
- Payment data: processed by SellAuth and the underlying payment provider (PayPal, card processors, or blockchain networks for crypto). We never store credit card numbers ourselves. SellAuth and these processors act as independent data controllers for payment data.
- Usage analytics: anonymous page views and performance metrics collected by Vercel Analytics. No personally identifiable information is tracked.
- License data: license key status and subscription tier, stored in our database (Supabase).
2.2 Legal Basis (GDPR Art. 6)
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing your email and license data is necessary to provide the service you purchased.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): anonymous analytics to improve our website and service.
2.3 Third Parties
- Supabase (auth & database), hosted in EU (Frankfurt). Supabase Privacy Policy
- SellAuth (payment orchestration and license delivery). SellAuth Privacy Policy
- PayPal (when PayPal is chosen as the payment method), PCI DSS compliant. PayPal Privacy Policy
- Vercel (hosting & analytics). Vercel Privacy Policy
2.4 Data Retention. Your account data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon account deletion or request, we erase your personal data within 30 days.
2.5 Your Rights. Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Data portability
- Object to processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address listed on our Contact page.
2.6 Complaints. If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens): autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl
3. Refund Policy
3.1 EU Right of Withdrawal. Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.
3.2 Digital Content Exception. By completing your purchase and accessing ATLAS immediately, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of digital content and acknowledge that you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Directive.
3.3 Voluntary Refunds. If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using ATLAS and we are unable to resolve them, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by contacting us via the Contact page. Refunds are issued at our discretion and processed back to your original payment method where possible. Cryptocurrency payments are refunded to the wallet address the payment was sent from.
3.4 Fraudulent Refund Claims. Refund requests based on false or misleading claims, including but not limited to falsely stating the Software does not work while usage logs demonstrate otherwise, will be denied. We reserve the right to permanently revoke the license of any user who submits a fraudulent refund request, without further compensation.
3.5 No Auto Renewal. All plans are one time payments for a fixed period (or lifetime). Nothing renews automatically and no payment details are stored, so there is nothing to cancel. Your access simply ends when the period expires, and you can buy a new key whenever you want to continue. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
4. Cookie Policy
This website uses a minimal set of cookies and local storage, all of which are essential for functionality:
- Authentication session (Supabase): required to keep you signed in. Strictly necessary, no consent required.
- Theme preference (localStorage): stores your light/dark mode choice. No personal data.
- Vercel Analytics: anonymous, cookieless performance analytics. No personally identifiable information is collected.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing tools. Because all storage is either strictly necessary or fully anonymous, no cookie consent banner is required under the ePrivacy Directive (2009/136/EC).
