ATLAS for iPhone Privacy Policy

This policy covers the ATLAS userscript for iPhone and iPad, the one you install through Userscripts in Safari or through Violentmonkey in Orion from the iPhone install page. It is a separate product from our browser extension, which has its own policy. This page explains exactly what data the script handles, what leaves your device, and what stays local. We do not sell your data, show ads, or run third party analytics or tracking.

What the script does

While you play GeoGuessr in Safari or Orion, the script reads the round information the page has already received from the game and shows you the location in a small panel on screen. It does not click, guess or play for you. That is its single purpose. It runs only on geoguessr.com; everywhere else on the web it does nothing at all.

Data that is sent to our server (geoguessrcheats.com)

• Your licence key, every time a GeoGuessr page loads. The panel itself is fetched from us at that moment, and the key is what tells our server whether you are entitled to the paid half of it. Nothing else goes with it: no device identifier, no browser fingerprint, no account details. The key travels inside the body of that request rather than in the address, so it does not end up in your browsing history. Our server checks one thing, whether the key is active and not expired, and answers with the panel.
• Round statistics, after a round finishes, unless you have switched them off. Each record holds the round number, your score, the distance of your guess in kilometres, the country of the round, the game mode and the version of ATLAS you are running. When a game ends we also send one summary of it: the total score, the number of rounds, the average score, the average distance and the mode. That is everything, and your coordinates are never part of it. They are never sent to us at all. The records are tied to your licence key, and we use them only to measure and improve the accuracy of our predictions. The ATLAS panel carries a switch for sharing round stats; turn it off and nothing described in this bullet is ever sent.

Without a valid licence key the panel stays locked and no round statistics are sent.

As with any request to any website, the two requests above arrive with the IP address and browser user agent they came from, and our hosting provider keeps those in ordinary server logs. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

Data that stays on your device

• The round coordinate. It is worked out and displayed on your phone and it is never uploaded, neither alongside round statistics nor on its own.
• The country lookup. The script downloads our country and lake map data once and then matches the coordinate against it on your phone, so we never learn which location you looked up.
• Your licence key, and whether you turned round statistics off. Both live in the browser's own storage for the site.
• Where you dragged the panel and whether you collapsed it, kept only for as long as the tab stays open.

What the script does not do

• It does not sell or share your data with third parties.
• It contains no advertising, no third party analytics, and no cross site tracking.
• It runs only on geoguessr.com. It does not read or act on any other website, and it cannot see anything outside the tab you are playing in.
• It has no account and no sign in, so we never receive your name or your email through it.
• It does not read your GeoGuessr password or your session. It reads only the round data the game page has already loaded.
• It cannot see inside the GeoGuessr app from the App Store, and it does not try to. Apple does not allow one app to look inside another, and ATLAS is no exception.

Turning round statistics off

Open the ATLAS panel while you are playing and turn the round stats switch off. It takes effect straight away, the choice is remembered on your device, and everything else about the panel keeps working exactly as before. There is no penalty of any kind for switching it off.

Payments

Buying a plan happens on our website, not inside the script. The script never sees or handles your payment details. See the plans page for how purchases work.

Data retention and deletion

Local data is removed when you delete the script in Userscripts or Violentmonkey and clear the site data for geoguessr.com in your browser. The licence and round records held on our server are tied to your key; contact us to have them removed.
